Growing up in the entertainment industry, I was no stranger to the pressure to be perfect. The constant demand to perform left me carrying the weight of expectations, and as life unfolded, I faced my own battles with anxiety and depression. Then came the devastating loss of my brother, Jamal "Mally" Gaines, a trailblazing entrepreneur and founder of East Coast Boutique, whose life was tragically cut short by a senseless act of gun violence. His strength, passion, and fearless spirit continue to light the way for me. His life—and his untimely passing—taught me the importance of living boldly and leaving an impact. That pain and pressure ignited my journey to reconnect with myself and hear God’s voice.
In 2019, I traveled to Bali, immersing myself in spiritual practices, and later deepened my path by studying yoga in Nicaragua. These moments of silence, movement, and reflection changed my life forever, revealing that healing is not just about the body—it’s about the mind and spirit too.
From that journey, Divinity In Motion was born—a movement to help others unlock their power, embrace their imperfections, and discover what’s possible when faith leads the way. Through yoga, dance, fitness, and mindfulness, I guide others to step into their light and find strength in every movement.
Today, as mental health challenges rise—nearly 1 billion people worldwide struggle with anxiety and depression—this mission feels more urgent than ever. My work isn’t just about movement; it’s about creating a safe space for healing, growth, and connection. It’s about honoring Jamal’s legacy by empowering others to rise, rebuild, and thrive. This is more than a wellness journey—it’s a revolution of the mind, body, and spirit.
